In lieu of our annual Snarks & Grumpkins hunt, we have decided to host something that allows anyone who wants to participate the opportunity to find FUN STUFF throughout the entire weekend!
The caveat: We are calling the banners and asking our attendees to bring swag to hide around Deer Creek.
TOP 4 RULES:
(1) Please do not create/hide any swag that is super NSFW, includes anything that could be considered hate speech or bullying and would therefore go against our zero tolerance policy, etc. Yes, this is ASOIAF/GoT, but beyond our rules that state DON’T BE A JERK, keep in mind that Deer Creek employees might stumble across things.
(2) Post the swag you’re going to hide in the IAFC FB group or in the Game of Swag channel in the IAFC Discord! That said – while you are welcome to hide promotional swag, DO NOT post ANY outside links or ask for people to PM you in your posts about what you’re hiding!!!
(3) If you hide swag, make sure to label it with something that says “Game of Swag” (attach a small sticker or piece of paper). Also, please keep in mind that while you are welcome to leave swag that supports your own endeavors, no one who FINDS swag is required to follow OR promote you. IMPORTANT NOTE: DO NOT HIDE ANYTHING IN THE VENDOR ROOM.
(4) If you find swag, please do not keep it unless you are willing to share it on social media! FB, Insta, TikTok, and/OR Twitter – just tag it with #gameofswag and #iceandfirecon !
ADDITIONAL RULES:
- YOU ARE NOT ENTITLED TO ANY SWAG.
- This is about giving and spreading kindness. Complaining about not getting/finding swag goes against that idea that we are not owed these things.
- NO PROMOS, ADS, SALES, SPAM, OR ATTENDEE-RUN GIVEAWAYS
- Give more than you take. While we encourage you to hide items such as stickers, pins, etc. that promote your work, excessive self-promotion, spam & ads are not allowed. If you have questions about what swag you want to hide, please email iceandfirecon@gmail.com
- DO NOT POST OR COMMENT ABOUT “TRADES”
- Trades and swaps happen but that’s not what this is about. Swag is meant to be given without return. Posting publicly about trades/swaps is forbidden.
- ALWAYS BE KIND AND COURTEOUS!
- We’re all in this together to create a welcoming environment. Let’s treat everyone with respect. Debates, unwanted criticism, and general rudeness do not have a place in this ‘event’. No swag shaming. Be nice.
- NO OUTSIDE LINKS, ASKS OR OFFERS TO BE SENT SWAG ARE ALLOWED
- This should be self-explanatory. As previously mentioned, do not post shop links, links to your social media, ANYTHING, when you share what swag you’re hiding. Do not ask for swag or offer swag to specific people.
